This album stands as a perfect amalgamation between Abbath's "I" project, and the direction Immortal had been going.
The production is solid, the riffs are what you've come to know, and the musicianship is spot on as usual. Abbath knows how to pick his talent. If you did like the aforementioned style of the previous mentioned albums, then you will be most pleased with this. Abbath's personality definitely shows through this at times, with strange vocal inflections and keyboard instrumentation. But still kick ass nonetheless.
As an album, its really, really good. Expect sheer current sounds of black metal, fused with the songwriting and voice only Abbath can bring. Instantly recognizable.
